You know what you learned regarding Varla’s Eagle One and toss it out the window. The Varla Eagle One is out and it’s nothing like the one it replaced. It’s not just about the larger 52% battery, though that has some significance–more on that to come.

The Eagle One Pro is Varla’s first monster scooter, and it seems we’ll see a lot of high-performance, flagship scooters in the coming season. This is a the context of Segway’s GT Series and the brand new Apollo Pro.

Varla’s Eagle One Pro sits on the line as a light heavyweight scooter that borrows its specs of beast-scooters. It is heavier than the local light heavier models Apollo Phantom, Vsett 10+ along with the Kaabo Mantis Pro, which weighs 79 pounds. And, it also features 11 inches road tires, typical of beast scooters like the Storm or Wolf King GT.

It’s a great scooter. Varla Eagle One Pro scooter is also remarkable with a far above average top speed for a dollar. It also has an an impressive range per pound, and great braking for every dollar. Thanks to the large tires-something you always want to hear-the scooter is able to stand on the ground with a good clearance at over 36 inches. They’re also good for traction, but could be improved. The suspension is firm and bouncy for urban trails, but the stiffness can be useful when traveling off-road. However, you may not be a fan of the short deck or its uncomfortable kickplate, especially when riding off-road.

Acceleration

The Varla Eagle Pro’s speed does not match that of light heavyweight scooters-it is far superior. Varla Pegasus City. It has a tested acceleration of 2.1 seconds to the 15 millimeters mark. This is the speed that’s you would expect from heavyweights with a long history like that of the Wolf Warrior 11 at 1.9 seconds, Dualtron Thunder at 2.0 seconds, and the Dualtron Thunder II at 2.2 seconds. This is because the Varla Eagle Pro’s sole competition in the light heavyweight category will be the Vsett 10+ with a 1.9 seconds of acceleration up between 15 and 15 mph.

Top Speed

The Varla Eagle Pro scooter is amazing for a variety of things but hill-climbing is one of them. This electric scooter will go up the hills without losing power, and doesn’t seem to let up with heavy riders or in poor battery levels. During our 60 m hill test with a 10% slope it was found that the scooter was able to keep an average speed of 17 mph (and over) up to around 10% charge. Varla Pegasus City.

The manufacturer credits the impeccable climb to the sturdy twin motors, rated at 1000W each, with a maximum power of 2600W. Varla claims that the motors produce the equivalent of 36 Nm or torque which is enough to push the scooter through hills of up to 35deg.

 

Range

Nothing beats the good miles on an electric scooter and the Varla Eagle One Pro scooter offers a decent 58 kilometers of tested range. Interestingly, the only scooter less than $400 of the Eagle One Pro that can beat it on the range is the Wolf Warrior X Pro, with a tested range of 41 miles. It beat other scooters that cost more, e.g., the Kaabo Mantis Pro with a 33 mile range, Dualtron Eagle Pro at 32 miles as well as the Vsett 10+ at 33 miles.

The battery behind the range is a large capacity 60V 24 Ah battery that has 1440 Wh of power. It’s larger and has more energy-dense 21700 cell batteries. This is a step up from the predecessor, called it was the Eagle One, whose battery was classified at 946 wh, and only came with 18650 lithium cell. Both batteries have intelligent battery management systems that preserve life. Charge the battery up to capacity takes 8-9 hrs, however, you can get an additional charger to reduce charging time to four to five hours.

 

Braking

Let’s face it; we wish all scooters had hydraulic brakes. This doesn’t mean that electric scooters equipped with cable brakes aren’t dangerous or unreliable when it comes to stopping. Absolutely not. In fact the cable brakes and EABS of Varla Eagle Pro Varla Eagle Pro have a proven braking power that is truly impressive and very easy to use. Varla Pegasus City.

The e-scooter can stop in only 3 meters from a speed that is 15 mph. This performance is in line with that of the Vsett 10+. The Varla Eagle’s stopping power outdoes Kaabo Wolf King, the Kaabo Wolf King, Kaabo Wolf Warrior X Pro, NAMI Burn-E and Nami BURN-E2.

You may not enjoy squeezing the levers that are powered by cables that are on the Varla Eagle Pro the way you would do on an electric scooter that has hydraulic brakes but the Pro’s mechanical disc brakes don’t leave much in the dust when they perform.

The EABS stops your brakes from locking. They are adjustable using the P-settings that are displayed on the display. You can adjust them from 0 to 2 with 0 being the weak setting and 2 is for a high setting.

 

Ride Quality

Ride quality can be described as acceptable however it’s not the best. One thing they do not discuss when talking about all-terrain e-scooters is that they are primarily focused on the off-roading aspects.

The tubeless pneumatic road tires are great for comfort, particularly when riding offroad. The tubeless nature of these tires is ideal for evading pinch flats from rocks. However, if you’re getting the scooter for use mostly on urban tracks, you’re better off changing to self-sealing, tubeless knobby tires. They will automatically increase your traction, retain your comfort, and reduce maintenance. Also, thanks to the tires and a 17 centimeter clearance on the ground, obstacles in the track will not scratch the deck beneath.

The suspension is stiff. The Varla Eagle Pro could have benefited more from adjustable shocks or adapting the spring to a lower spring rate. But the rigid setup is effective when dealing with large bumps and keeps the scooter from falling off. On well-maintained tracks the suspension is somewhat bouncy for the comfort.

The Eagle Pro also comes with a built-in steering damper. In high-speed and straight tracks, users will enjoy excellent stability. At top speed the stability does not equal the stability from dual-stem beasts like the Wolf King GT but rather appears to be a Dualtron Thunder or Nami Burn with a steering damper installed. However, the damper for steering also makes it so that drivers be forced to work harder on the handlebars when trying to negotiate turns.

The deck is yet another area to be concerned about. It’s too narrow, and with this shortage of deck space the riders are forced to rest their back feet on the footrest which isn’t ergonomically designed. The bright side to this model is that Varla Eagle Pro compensates for the sloppy stance by providing an ergonomically laid-out cockpit that is easy on your hands. It is designed for comfort and convenience. The controls can be also ergonomically designed and complement the well-readable, large 9 centimeter screen.

Overall, between the hefty feeling of the steering, the sporty riding stance and the fast acceleration that the Eagle One Pro is exhilarating to ride. It could also be quite a workout when you’re on the road for a long time.

What Makes the Pro Version Different From Eagle One

  • There were significant upgrades that Varla did to the original Eagle One to get the Pro. Here are a few of the major differences:
  • The Pro is said to have a faster top speed of 45 mph in comparison to the original Eagle One has a manufacturer-cited top speed of 40 mph. There’s not much difference.
  • The Pro has 1440 Wh of power, while the Eagle One’s is rated at 946 Wh. The difference is 52% which means a higher performance with the Pro.
  • These tires are upgraded for an eleven inches of airtubeless versus that of Eagle Ones 9.8 inch pneumatics.
  • The Eagle One only weighs 77 lbs, while the Pro weighs in at 90 lbs.
  • The Pro is unique with a large 3,5 inches central display and the Eagle One comes with a smaller display and the LCD with a finger-tweaker.
  • The Pro launched an NFC card that can be used to lock as well as unlocking of the scooter.
